Glomp Me!

About the Site

This is actually not my first attempt at a website. The first came to a screeching halt just a month or two after it launched. *sweatdrop* But anyway, I decided that it's about time for another try.

And thus, 'Glomp!' is born. ^_^ Why name it 'Glomp!', I hear you ask? It's a brilliant stroke of genius on my part, I assure you. And it doesn't happen very often so allow me to gloat for a while. Lolz. It's a somewhat boring story but do bear with me.

I first decided to name this site g.archive. It's nothing fancy but I wanted my initial 'g' to be in the site name. Now, as I was looking for a suitable webhost, I dunno what came over me, but suddenly, I remembered the days when I was just a newbie at the SDBC. And there was this term that people used to describe a sort of clinging action to an admired character. The word was, you guessed it, 'glomp'. (Sorry, I dunno exactly how to define the word. If anyone knows, could you email me? Thanks!)

It was brilliant! Simple, easy to remember but still unique. I don't know why I didn't think of it before. *smacks self on the forehead*

Anyway, there will be one big difference between 'Glomp!' and my previous archive. Because while the old one was only supposed to have Slam Dunk fanfics, this one will now include fanfics from other anime series. It's by invitation only, of course, since I'm only gonna include my favorites.

To authors whose fics I don't ask to host, don't be offended, k. ^^; After all, my taste isn't exactly the same as other people's, ne. For all we know, the fics I like might not exactly be the best out there. *sweatdrop* Now I'm making my favorites look bad. But I'm sure you get my drift.

So there. I just hope I'll be able to keep 'Glomp!' going much longer than The Pig Pen. Wish me luck!

Hi! My name is glacier and I am your webmistress. ^_^ Of course, glacier is only my cyber-identity. My real-world name is Imee and yes, I am a girl. I guess it's pretty obvious since I do have this fondness for yaoi. ^^ I am also 21 years old, having just had my birthday last March 4.

The Philippines has been my home for the past 21 years even though I'm actually of Chinese descent. Till the day I die I will have no idea why my ancestors decided to live in this country. *sigh* It is so HOT here!! I'm stuck here in the meantime but I'm planning to go live somewhere else in the future. Maybe Europe. *shrug*

I'm gonna graduate in April 2005 (thank God!) after five years of studying. My course is Business Administration and Accountancy, which is a double major. Which also means that I'll have to go to review school after graduation because I'm gonna take the CPA board exams.

My favorite food is actually chocolate. Hehehe. Hershey's chocolate, to be exact. And I do hate vegetables. The only green things I can tolerate are spinach, broccoli and cabbage. ^^; So you can probably guess that I'm not in the best of shape, but I don't really care. I'm happy with my chocolates, thank you very much.

Hmm... what else should I tell you? Well, I'm obviously an anime fan, though availability here in the Philippines leave much to be desired. I have my best friend, Jenny, to thank for my anime obsession since she introduced me to Fushigi Yuugi. ^_^ My yaoi affliction started months later when, while doing some research about Slam Dunk, I came across a LEMON. LOL! You can imagine how shocked I initially was, but I later come back for more. And I haven't stopped since. I even tried my hand at writing for a while. However, I've come to the conclusion that I'm not a very effective writer, and so I'm leaving the writing to other people and I'll just continue to appreciate their work. ^^
